Thallus brownish to olive-green, with pseudocyphellae, corticate. Ascomata solitary, subglobose, erumpent from the substratum, the sides often partly or largely covered by the thallus, c. 0.3–0.5 mm diam. Ascomatal wall with crystals, to 100 μm thick; ostiole apical, pale. Hamathecium not inspersed with oil droplets, IKI+ orange. Ascospores 8 per ascus, irregularly biseriate, muriform, with c. 8 rows of c. 3–8 locules, fusiform, with rounded ends, grey to brown, 38–50 × 15–20 μm; lumina rounded; old spores containing globules of an orange oily substance. CHEMISTRY: No substances detected. |

Occurs in northern N.T. and eastern Qld; also on Christmas Island. Pantropical, mostly in open, coastal areas, but also in lowland forest. | ||
